Established in 1964, TMK is an English medium, public, selective High School. Forms 1, 2 and 3 study at BTMK (Bayraktar Turk Maarif Koleji )
which is a public, selective secondary school. Forms 4, 5 and 6 study at TMK which is situated in another building at another part of Nicosia. The academic curriculum is designed to give all pupils the opportunity to acquire a solid, high quality secondary education and develop in intellectually and physically. The small size of the school allows for continual and close supervision of each individual pupil and the school's entire program aims at encouraging and guiding pupils to develop integrity and achieve a secure and prosperous future.

Instruction in all forms is in English, which is the main school language. Great importance is attached to the teaching of Turkish: pupils are able to acquire a very good oral and written command of the language and its literature. German/French are the third languages offered.

SCHOOL FACILITIES: These include fully equipped Physics, Biology and Chemistry laboratories, a library, a computer laboratory, Art, video and music rooms, an auditorium (under construction), a counselling office, changing rooms and sports' grounds.


FORM STRUCTURE: It is approximately equivalent to the English system, Forms 4 to Form 6, and United States system, 10th to 12th Grades.

TEACHERS: All teachers are permanent members of staff and the administrators maintains close contact with the pupils. The Headmaster and staff pride themselves in running a friendly school which combines a positive, caring atmosphere with challenge. High personal standards are expected. We seek to provide opportunities which enable all students to reach their maximum potential.
